On July 3, 2018, Greg Daggett, a Director on the Board of the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation, presented Halo House Foundations Executive Director and Co-founder Kathleen Fowler with a check for $800,000.
The Mabee Foundation had approved the “challenge” grant to Halo House in early 2017. The grant was contingent upon Halo House raising the entire $12.1 million budgeted for the capital project in 12 months.
On the afternoon of the last day of the challenge period we still needed nearly $200,000, and hope was fading that we could make it. Between 2 o’clock and 5 o’clock two generous individuals stepped up in the last few hours of the challenge period to save the day!
