Photo Contest Rules

Theme: Hometown Pride, Things To See and Do in the Houston Area.

Purpose: To provide photos to display in the hallways of the new Halo Housing building and to give our out of town guests ideas of things to do and see in the Houston area.

Starting Date and Entry Deadline: The Photo Contest begins on Sunday, November 11, 2018 and ends on Tuesday March 19, 2019.

Who May Enter: Anyone, living anywhere may enter. There is a 10 photo limit to the number of photos you can submit. Photo(s) can be taken at any time.

How To Enter: Complete the entry form above including your name, telephone number, e-mail address, photo title, the general location of the photo, short description of what is shown in the photo and submit entry form along with your digital photograph.

Submission Guidelines: All entries must be submitted through the Halo House website in digital format. Only online entries will be eligible, no print or film photos will be accepted. Please submit photos as high resolution as possible.*

Judging: The Photo Contest Committee will do the judging. All decisions are final and at the sole discretion of the Committee.

Contest Prize: Winning photos will be printed, framed, and display along with the photographer’s name in the internal hallways of the new Halo House building and become a part of the Halo House permanent photo collection.

Winners: Those taking the winning photos will be notified and their winning photos will be posted on the Halo House website and displayed for public viewing during the grand opening of the Halo House apartment complex prior to being placed in the hallways of the Halo House.

Photo Release: By entering this Photo Contest, you as the photographer of the photo, are granting permission to the Halo House Foundation to display, publish and use this photo in print, online and in social media. The photographer retains ownership and copyright (if any) of the photo, and Halo House will not be involved in any copyright disputes.

* For photo enthusiasts, digital files should be in JPG format. We would like to have the option to print as large as 20x24" so the bigger the file the better.
