Halo House Grand Opening

Halo House’s Grand Opening of the new 42,500 square foot facility took place May 15, 2019 with approximately 200 people in attendance.  In addition to hearing from founders Dr. Nathan Fowler and Kathleen Fowler, guest speakers included notables Dr. Peter Pisters (President, MD Anderson Cancer Center), Michael Morgan (Chairman & CEO of Morgan Group), Amy Ronneberg (CFO, Be The Match, & President, Be The Match Bio Therapies), Russell Gordy (CEO, the Gordy Companies, and President, Gordy & Sons), Dr. Susan Blaney (Director, Texas Children’s Cancer & Hematology Centers, & Executive Vice Chair, Department of Pediatrics, Baylor College of Medicine).

The facility includes 33 apartments for blood cancer patients and their family or caregiver, a chapel, community room, fitness center, and peaceful gardens. Every aspect of the building’s design was planned for guests to feel welcomed and comforted.

Halo House is the largest housing facility for blood cancer patients in the USA, and will provide housing for decades to come, or until a cure for cancer is found.

Our deepest thanks to Meeks + Partners Architecture for the beautiful design details, to the dedicated team at the Morgan Group for keeping the project on-time and on-budget, and for Midway Company’s help all along the way.
